O’Hare Airport Parking Rates

Hourly Parking   – $3/first hour. Rates increase for every hour and for 8 to 24 hours it is $77. Hourly Parking Garage clearance – 6’6’’

O’Hare Airport Parking

The Main Parking lot at O’Hare lies close to terminal 1, 2 and 3. It has Garage A, Lot B and Lot C. Lot B and C are outside parking. Lot B is for Terminal 1 outside parking while Parking lot C is for Terminal 3 outside parking. The Valet parking is located at Garage A.

Economy Parking at O’Hare

Economy parking is available at parking Lots E, F and G. These are located farther away from the terminals and one would have to take the complimentary airport shuttles and ATS to reach the terminals.

Economy Parking rates at O’Hare

Parking Lot F – $22/day (8-24 hrs).
Shuttles buses operating 24/7 transport passengers to the ATS station at Lot E.

Parking Lot G – $15/day (8-24 hrs).
Shuttles buses operate between Lot G and the ATS station at Lot E, 24/7. It takes a little more than 30 minutes to reach the terminals from Lot G.

International Parking lot, O’Hare –

For international terminal 5, parking is available at Lot D. It is mainly meant for short-term parking of 3 hours or less. For the day (8-24 hrs) the rate is $77.

Kiss n’ Fly, O’Hare Airport –

The Kiss n’ fly drop off point is located directly off Bessie Coleman Drive. Transportation is available from the Kiss n’ Fly point to the ATS station. The ATS (Airport Transit System) takes the passengers to the terminals. A shuttle bus to/from the METRA Station near F  lot, runs from the Kiss n’ Fly point.

Cell Phone parking lots, O’Hare (temporary and free parking) –

This is Located at Economy parking Lot F. Meant for people picking up family/friends/associates/passengers, the Cell Phone parking lot offers free and temporary parking facility. This is like a waiting area for people collecting passengers until called to the curbside for pick-up. This allows people to avoid the need for the annoying circling around the airport.

Discounted parking is offered by a number of offsite parking companies, including Avistar and Thrify, which provide curb-to-curb service.  Most of the offsite parking companies offer seasonal Parking Discount Coupons. Rates depend on the area where parked and the time the vehicle is parked for. For parking in excess of 30 days and other information can be obtained at (773) 686-7530. Disabled access is available in all parking areas.

Chicago OHare (ORD) Airport – Taxi, Cab fares, Shuttle, Metra, Pace – Amtrak Union Station, Loop

Ground Transportation at Chicago O’ Hare International airport –
Taxi/cab/limousine service to and from O’Hare Airport (ORD)–

Taxis are available outside lower level of each terminal. For taxis/cabs to Chicago suburbs, there are listings available at each terminal lower level at their courtesy board.

Taxi/cabs are available from Chicago O’Hare Airport (ORD) to Oak Brook, Libertyville, Hoffman Estates and to Plainfield.

The most convenient method but not the cheapest method of reaching the Chicago suburbs from O’Hare  Airport would be to take the cab/taxi. Taxi/Cabs are available from Chicago O’Hare Airport (ORD) to Aurora, Elgin, Joliet, Waukegan, Cicero, Skokie, Evanston, Palatine and if required even to Hammond in Indiana and Kenosha in Wisconsin. But of course the fares would vary and depend on the distance between the places.

CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) operates a large fleet of buses and also the Rapid Transit system (trains) in Chicago and forty suburbs around the city. CTA’s Blue Line train serves O’Hare Airport. One can take this to get into the city and change trains/buses depending on destination. It goes towards Forest Park. One can get to the CTA station from the baggage claim area by following the sign “Train to City” and the blue arrow on the ground. For bus shuttles follow the red arrow on the ground from baggage claim area.

Metra is a Regional rail system serving Chicago and the suburbs; the service area includes the counties Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will. This regional service has various lines. The North Central Service operates between Antioch and Chicago. From Chicago to O’Hare by Metra, One can get down at O’Hare (which comes after Rosemont), then take the airport shuttle bus to the ATS station. From Antioch side, O’Hare comes after Prospect Heights.

PACE, also run by the RTA (Regional Transportation Authority) operates buses to the Chicago suburbs. They also have vanpools and dial-a-ride programs. At O’Hare airport the PACE is located near Lot E.

Car rental at O’Hare Airport –

Car rental counters are located only at Terminal 1 lower level. But courtesy boards are there at each terminal from where passengers can call the rental agencies.

Inter-terminal transport at O’Hare, Chicago

The ATS (Airport Transit System) at O’Hare aids in easy transit between various points with the Airport area viz. the terminals, parking lots, Metra station and PACE stop. It is a 24/7 rail system which along with shuttle buses connects the domestic terminals, international terminal and parking lots. All ATS route system are accessible to individual with disabilities.

O’Hare airport (ORD) offers passengers a number of amenities apart from the usual restaurants, duty free shopping, retail outlets, battery charging for laptops, wireless etc. For a quick shower one can get the facility by paying a small charge at the Hilton Health Club. There are some points of interest for passengers with leisure time at hand at the airport. There is a Brachiosaurus Dinosaur mounted in Concourse B of Terminal 1. The Butch O’Hare WWII Fighter Airplane exhibit is located in terminal 2. There is a ‘Fly Children’s Exhibit’ for kids twelve and less at terminal 2. The medical center and Travelers Aid Office are located at Terminal 2 upper level. Foreign currency exchange facility is available at terminal 5, lower level, Seaway Bank (T2) and by Gate K11 (T3).

A number of shuttle companies operate regular service between O’Hare airport  (ORD) and downtown. Usually Shuttles depart from O’Hare airport every 10-15 minutes and frequent services are available for downtown Chicago hotels and suburbs. “Go Airport Express” shuttles are available at Door 1E, 2D and 3F (across baggage claim level). “Chicago airport shuttle” operates shuttle service from o’Hare to chicago city center (available at door 1E, 2D or 3E).

The O’Hare International Airport is a major airport located in Chicago, Illinois (USA). It is located in the NW corner of Chicago about 17 miles or 27 Km from the Chicago Loop which is the historic downtown Chicago. It lies in Cook county and DuPage County. O’Hare International  (ORD) is the fourth busiest airport (2021) in the world. It handles huge volumes of passengers as well as cargo.

O’Hare Airport Terminals, Chicago –

There are currently the terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5 at the O’Hare Airport.

Terminal 1 at O’Hare:

This caters to All Nippon Airways (ANA), United, United Express, Lufthansa. Terminal 1 has concourses B and C. It is well connected to Terminal 2. All ground transportation modes are available here. All other usual passenger facilities are available here including Foreign Currency Exchange, ATMs, rental car/hotel Info, charging station, Chapel, Mail drop facility, restaurants et al.

Terminal 2 at O’Hare, Chicago:

The airlines operating at Terminal 2 include Continental, Air Canada, JetBlue, Northwest, United and US Airways. It has concourses E and F. It is connected to terminals 2 and 3. All the above mentioned facilities are available here.

Terminal 3 at O’Hare, Chicago:

The airlines operating from Terminal 3 are Alaska, American Airlines, American Eagle Delta, Delta Connection, Spirit Airlines, Iberia. It has the concourses G,H,K and L.

Terminal 5 at O’Hare, Chicago (the International terminal):

The airlines operating from Terminal 5 include AeroMexico, Aer Lingus, Air India, Air France, Alitalia, Air Jamaica, ANA, American, BA, Austrian Airlines, JAL, Iberia, KLM, Korean Air, Lufthansa, SWISS, United, Virgin Atlantic, Royal Jordanian etc. It has the concourse M.

Hotels in/near O’Hare Airport


 Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport – This hotel is located right in middle of the International airport. It is within walking distance to all terminals, the CTA train system as well as the Donald A Stephens Convention Center.

Sofitel Chicago O’Hare – Hotel located about 2 miles from O’Hare airport, in Rosemont.

Best Western at O’Hare – Hotel located about a mile form the airport, in Rosemont.

Doubletree Hotel Chicago O’Hare Airport-Rosemont – Hotel located opposite the Donald A Stephens Convention Center and about five minutes form the O’Hare airport.

Hampton Inn Chicago-O’Hare Intl Airport – Hotel located about 1.5 miles form the O’Hare airport and 2.5 miles from the Donald A Stephens Convention Center.

There are numerous other hotels near O’Hare airport. Some of them are Holiday Inn Chicago O’Hare Area, Crowne Plaza Hotel Chicago O’Hare Hotel & Conf. Ctr., The Westin O’Hare, Chicago Marriott O’Hare, Hyatt Regency O’Hare, Sheraton Gateway Suites Chicago O’Hare, Wyndham O’Hare, Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hillside etc. Most of them are close to the “Donald A Stephens Convention Center” as well.
